This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Prepare and present Financial Statement packages for a designated portfolio of multifamily properties, adhering to the prescribed quality standards.
• Ensure the accuracy of information prior to submission.
• Create Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Review the Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts for precision.
• Prepare and record journal entries in the General Ledger.
• Examine periodic reports of general ledger accounts to confirm accuracy and rectify errors before the accounting period closes.
• Assess and analyze transactions from Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to guarantee proper coding and documentation.
• Collaborate with AP and AR to investigate, resolve, and/or report discrepancies.
• Research, analyze, identify, and clarify any variances or unexplained items on the Income Statement and modifications on the Balance Sheet.
• Support the creation of additional financial reports to be incorporated into the Financial Package as requested by the client.
• Assist independent CPA firms during audits and reviews of associations on a year-end, turnover, and/or periodic basis.
• Analyze and record end-of-year audit adjusting entries.
• Offer assistance and advice to Property Management by addressing inquiries related to monthly Financial Statements and other associated matters.
• Create various reports as per requests.
• Occasionally assist in accounting or operations projects as needed.
• Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations for the assigned portfolio of multifamily properties.
• Oversee cash management for the assigned portfolio of multifamily properties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• 1 to 4 years of work experience, or an equivalent background in a related field.
• Experience in real estate accounting is preferred.
