Project Manager – SEALC Phase II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Establish collaborative relationships with all North American centers and programs related to Southeast Asian language initiatives.

• Maintain consistent communication and coordination with the leadership of the Southeast Asian Summer Studies Institute (SEASSI).

• Assist the joint SEALC-GETSEA committee by monitoring national Southeast Asian language offerings and identifying opportunities for course-sharing, exchanges, exploratory pilots, and targeted scholarships for language study.

• Foster effective communication with project staff at UW, SEALC steering committee members, and participants of sub-committees and working groups.

• Organize and implement grant-related events and initiatives, including professional development workshops, project awards, and tuition awards, in collaboration with the grant Principal Investigator, SEALC staff, and committee members.

• Execute all administrative responsibilities such as promoting workshops, managing participant selection, and creating and distributing pre- and post-workshop surveys.

• Facilitate communication between the financial specialist and project participants to ensure the smooth processing of honoraria and invoices for workshop expenses.

• Develop and distribute a newsletter to the instructor mailing list containing SEALC announcements and opportunities.

• Support the SEALC PI in drafting annual reports for stakeholders and the Luce Foundation.

• Prepare the agenda, attend the annual stakeholder meeting, take minutes, and compile the minutes post-meeting.


⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• A certificate from the Plain Language series is mandatory.

• Strong administrative abilities, time management skills, and a keen attention to detail are essential.

• Proficiency in a range of computer and digital communication tools, including Google Suite, Qualtrics, Word, Excel, Zoom, and Box or other collaborative file-sharing services.

• Experience in website creation and maintenance (e.g., WordPress or other CMS), listserv mailings (via MailChimp or similar platforms), and the capacity to leverage social media platforms for project visibility and outreach is also required.

• Previous experience managing hybrid format workshops or trainings is preferred.

• The candidate must be willing to travel for in-person events.

• Occasional night and weekend work may be necessary.
