📋 Description

• Lead, cultivate, and maintain a successful partnership with our clients, fostering future opportunities for CannonDesign.

• Develop and sustain positive client relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Clearly and compellingly communicate design, construction, and other relevant issues to clients.

• Establish a partnering relationship with the client at the onset of engagement to set shared expectations, clarify collaboration methods, identify key stakeholders, and outline the timing of critical decisions.

• Ensure effective communication with clients and internal teams, including comprehensive written project documentation. Take a lead role in significant meetings and presentations.

• Engage in Business Development initiatives and collaborate with Marketing and Office Leadership as necessary to enhance revenue growth.

• Comprehend our contractual commitments to the client and the project to ensure the team meets expectations for our scope of work and required services. Actively work with the client to identify and secure approvals for any additions to the scope of work or services before undertaking them. Proactively communicate with and persuade clients to approve and process payments for our services.

• Lead project teams, alongside client leadership, to define project goals and work plans while achieving quality, budget, schedule, innovation, and profitability targets.

• Facilitate the development, evolution, and management of the work plan, budget, and schedule. Preferred tools include MS Project and Deltek Project Planning.

• Oversee the design and documentation process and the implementation of design during construction.

• Responsible for maintaining project records, including capturing and documenting key decisions and records within the CannonDesign standard file structure.

• Accountable for risk mitigation and compliance.

• Develop a risk management plan and oversee project risks.

• Collaborate effectively with all team members to foster a positive team environment that encourages participation, empowerment, and achievement.

• Implement the CannonDesign Method utilizing process expectations, best practices, reference standards, tools, templates, and technology to deliver competitive advantages, superior service quality, and enhanced team productivity and profitability.

• Manage and coordinate the team's workload, providing leadership for team activities. Clearly communicate client objectives to team members and offer constructive feedback and mentoring. Identify and share lessons learned with teams.

• Serve as a proactive resource for project teams in decision-making processes and in developing technically sound and innovative planning and design solutions.

• Regularly meet with project team members to monitor work progress and ensure adherence to the firm’s best practice standards and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements for the project.

• Responsible for overseeing the QA/QC process. Monitor the technical quality of projects and enforce the application of QA/QC process standards and requirements. Actively participate in the QAQC process.

• Coordinate with the Project Architect and the Quality leader in planning project work.

• Participate in contract negotiations with other project leadership, the Business Practice Leader, and the Legal Team.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field is required.

• At least 8 years of relevant experience is required.

• Current licensure or registration in the United States is preferred.

• LEED accreditation is preferred.

• Must possess the ability to engage with clients, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must have a solid understanding of business principles.

• Must be a critical thinker.

• Must be highly analytical.

• Strong technical knowledge, coordination skills, and the ability to build rapport with and lead the project team and client are essential.

• Must be a fully qualified professional capable of performing work with a high degree of autonomy, even amidst some ambiguity.

• Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Deltek Vision, Bluebeam, and other data management software is required.
