This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• This position reports directly to the Director of Project Management and is responsible for managing both internal and external projects associated with NuScale's Small Modular Reactor Technology.
• The Project Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team across various departments to enhance the design, fabrication, and deployment of the NuScale Small Modular Reactor.
• Work will be conducted collaboratively with other departments to ensure that project delivery aligns with customer requirements and adds value while achieving cost, schedule, quality, and other specified targets and objectives.
• Oversee the comprehensive planning and execution of project activities for assigned projects, adhering to NuScale's policies and procedures.
• Document and uphold the approved baseline, along with earned value planning and management, as well as the project execution strategy in a Project Management Plan.
• Communicate project baselines and requirements effectively to the project team.
• Interface with and provide support to various discipline managers and teams.
• Assist performing organizations with advanced project knowledge and information about company priorities.
• Proactively identify and resolve project issues and anticipated challenges, including escalating concerns within the NuScale organization when necessary by applying effective risk and issue management.
• Provide weekly and monthly status reports that focus on project performance (earned value metrics, variance analysis, etc.), schedule and cost risk mitigations, and issue resolution for project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with management personnel in performing organizations to authorize work and assign work package managers and qualified resources for project execution.
• Develop, maintain, and control project-specific plans and procedures essential for the efficient execution of the project.
• Uphold the group’s standard for high quality and timely completion of tasks.
• Carry out other assigned duties.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management or a related field, dealing with a high level of complexity and multiple interfaces.
• Proven application of Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge principles and processes is required.
• Demonstrated experience with integrated cost and schedule control, or ANSI EIA-748-C Earned Value Management System practices is required.
• Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or completion of an equivalent certification program is preferred.
• A proven leader for a licensed nuclear design project is essential.
• The candidate should possess at least a basic understanding of Pressurized Water Reactor designs.
• Project Management experience in the nuclear industry, energy sector, power plant architect/engineering (A/E), engineering procurement construction (EPC), or US Department of Energy nuclear projects is preferred.
• Understanding of the nuclear development environment and fabrication of components related to NSSS and reactor design, as regulated by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, is required.
• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
