This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Serve as the primary authority on governance and process enforcement for all projects within your region, ensuring compliance with Environment Bank’s project management framework, standards, and gateway requirements.
• Take full responsibility for managing the entire project lifecycle, which includes gateway approvals, assurance activities, and necessary documentation.
• Develop and uphold robust project controls, focusing on risk, schedule, cost, change, and quality management.
• Spearhead the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of project processes to improve visibility, traceability, and organizational control.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects to guarantee they are well-governed, compliant, and progressing according to established methodologies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all projects in your region, providing top-level oversight to the national programme manager and Ops Director.
• Create and manage an integrated, end-to-end project plan, coordinating contributions from ecologists, habitat creation specialists, consents managers, and contractors.
• Oversee the setup and ongoing management of complex habitat bank sites, ensuring thorough planning, sequencing, and operational readiness.
• Lead project meetings, facilitate decision-making, and ensure effective communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• Administer the project risk register, programme, and assurance schedule, ensuring proactive mitigation and escalation when necessary.
• Promote a safe working environment by ensuring the safe delivery of all tasks, fostering a positive safety culture, and complying with relevant legislation and internal standards.
• Establish, manage, and oversee project budgets throughout the entire lifecycle, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and financial governance.
• Monitor contractor performance, KPIs, and quality of delivery to ensure that work meets specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
• Provide timely and clear reporting on project status, risks, issues, and performance to internal stakeholders.
• Keep accurate and current project information across relevant systems and tools.
• Lead lessons-learned initiatives, ensuring that insights are captured, shared, and integrated into future practices with the programme manager.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to refine processes, enhance governance, and improve project delivery capabilities across the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and govern multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring strong project control and adherence to established processes.
• Experience in managing project control functions, including planning, estimating, financial control, and commercial management.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the capability to influence, challenge, and drive action among diverse stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, with a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and behavioral aspects of programme delivery.
• Experience in delivering projects with consent/permit restrictions and/or seasonal limitations.
• Proven experience in risk management and structured project governance.
• Valid UK clean driving license and willingness to travel for regional site visits and events.
• APM accredited or equivalent qualification.
• Degree-level education in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in habitat creation, restoration, or nature recovery projects, preferably in a project management role.
• Performance-based annual bonus of up to 10% of salary.
