This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the Pre-Construction Department by engaging in the EPC RFP process for designated projects through contract execution.
• Take part in a formal transition and acceptance of the project from Pre-Construction to Project Execution, followed by a handoff to Asset Management / O&M.
• Collaborate in developing and implementing a project execution plan that is clearly communicated to all stakeholders involved.
• Grasp the implications of various technical alternatives and guide engineering designs to identify the optimal solution for each scenario.
• Ensure projects are sufficiently staffed, trained, and that standard construction toolbox policies, procedures, and programs are followed, ensuring all project communications, issues, change orders, and quality items are thoroughly documented.
• Provide leadership during construction activities, ensuring that safety, quality, schedule, cost, environmental, landowner, and other project requirements are met or surpassed.
• Understand and manage all facets of project construction contracts (EPC, Owner-Furnished Equipment, Interconnection Agreement, technical consultants) while holding contractors and suppliers accountable to contractual obligations to guarantee timely and budget-friendly project completion.
• Foster a culture of ownership and accountability by empowering team members to make decisions and holding them responsible for those decisions.
• Consolidate, manage, and analyze budgets, costs, forecasts, and utilization against set financial targets.
• Plan and recruit qualified field staff to ensure that adequate resources are available for the efficient and timely execution of committed projects.
• Build effective relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, landowners, and other stakeholders.
• Offer strategic direction and oversee the development of Construction Site Managers, providing supervision, guidance, and mentorship to staff at all levels.
• Promote a team-oriented approach throughout the organization, both for projects and internal initiatives.
• Communicate relevant information effectively to superiors.
• Advocate for change and manage the implementation of new ideas, processes, tools, etc.
• Manage relationships with all external parties during the construction phase of the project, including local government, permitting agencies, pipeline utility companies, and interconnecting utilities.
• After project award, oversee construction contracts including tracking deliverables, schedules, cash flow, managing RFIs, change orders, and providing notices or dispute resolution as necessary.
• Ensure project compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.
• Provide summary management reports on the status of all project aspects to various stakeholders.
• Interface with the lender’s engineer as necessary, including monthly reporting, project review meetings, performance testing, and draw certification.
• Manage the handoff and coordination of Operations and Maintenance contracts and ensure the closeout of the EPC contract at Final Acceptance.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Project Management Professional certification is a plus.
• 2-3 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, industrial construction, or capital project management.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management and methods for large projects, contract management, procurement, supply chain management, environmental and building permitting, and transportation logistics.
• Basic understanding of construction labor relations across the US.
• Competence in analytical problem solving, customer/partner relationship management, and technology expertise.
• Proficient understanding of the entire solar project life cycle.
• Experience with High Voltage Interconnection aspects of a project’s scope of work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Project, Excel, PowerBI), Procore, SiteTracker, NetSuite, and other relevant software.
