This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Evaluate booth designs, renderings, plans, specifications, and project requirements to ascertain the complete scope.
• Develop comprehensive estimates for fabrication, modular systems, rental components, graphics, flooring, lighting, audiovisual, freight, installation and dismantling labor, and related services.
• Calculate material quantities, production labor, purchased components, subcontracted services, and other associated project costs.
• Identify gaps in scope, assumptions, exclusions, and potential cost risks prior to finalizing estimates.
• Suggest value-engineering alternatives to align design concepts with client budgets.
• Assess designs for feasibility in terms of constructability, material utilization, production efficiency, installation needs, and overall practicality.
• Collaborate with design, sales, project management, finance, and production teams throughout the estimating process.
• Provide prompt pricing feedback as designs and project scopes develop.
• Communicate critical cost drivers, assumptions, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Obtain and assess pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Stay informed about fluctuating material, labor, freight, rental, and service costs.
• Compare actual project costs with initial estimates and enhance future estimating precision through established Job Costing SOPs.
• Assist in the development and upkeep of estimating standards, historical cost data, and pricing resources.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, project management, production, detailing, or a related role within the trade show exhibit sector is strongly preferred.
• A robust understanding of custom and modular trade show booth construction, fabrication techniques, graphics, rental components, and show-site requirements.
• Capability to interpret renderings, floor plans, elevations, construction drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Proficient knowledge of material and labor takeoffs, production hours, freight, installation and dismantle, and outsourced services.
• Advanced skills in Excel.
• Proficiency in estimating, project management, ERP, or related business software.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Salesforce, CAD drawings, and design documentation is highly desirable.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple estimates and shifting priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across various departments.
