This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Under the guidance of Senior Project Engineers or Engineering Management personnel, the Project Engineer I is responsible for managing engineering aspects of third-party EPC design outputs and actively oversees internal PVsyst models in accordance with project designs, in addition to providing support for construction and reviewing/approving commissioning documentation.
• Accountable for ensuring that contractor engineering deliverables are completed on time, while also managing and directing internal engineering deliverables and any outsourced engineering to ensure that designs comply with the requirements of Silicon Ranch, contractual obligations, and industry engineering standards.
• Engages in the creation of contract documents and EPC bid evaluations, as well as supports the Project Finance team through collaboration with Independent Engineers.
• Assesses internally-generated designs of solar energy projects against project limitations and contractual obligations, reporting the outcomes to Senior Engineering or Engineering Management staff.
• Coordinates or operates PVsyst to validate design output in relation to contractual commitments, and communicates findings to Senior Engineering or Engineering Management staff.
• Provides support to the contracting team in compiling contract documents and reviewing third-party EPC bids under supervision.
• Organizes and facilitates design reviews using Bluebeam Revu Sessions for solar power facilities and substations, including drawings, calculations, and reports under supervision.
• Manages project-specific engineering data through company software platforms.
• Collects and evaluates relevant codes, standards, and vendor and client requirements, conveying these to the project team.
• Participates in constructability assessments.
• Conducts site visits as necessary to assist with site evaluations, construction, commissioning, and Project Finance.
• Aids Project Execution and Operations teams throughout the commissioning process and project closeout.
• Promotes and engages in ongoing learning opportunities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET Accredited institution (e.g., BSEE, BSME, BSCE).
• EIT License is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of project engineering experience in designing, constructing, or commissioning within the EPC or utility electricity generation sector is desired.
• Previous experience in the solar industry is advantageous.
• Familiarity with reviewing 30/60/90/IFC design drawings; addressing RFI’s and material submittals; and knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to photovoltaic power plants is a plus.
• Highly skilled in the MS Office suite.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, PVsyst, and AutoCAD is advantageous.
• Capable of managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities and a willingness to learn quickly.
