This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Perform forensic investigations related to electrical incidents and failures.
β’ Collaborate closely with a diverse team of engineers and specialists.
β’ Identify origins and root causes of accidents, equipment failures, product defects, and other mechanical issues.
β’ Lead on-site investigations and document any property damage.
β’ Work together on large-scale, complex projects within multidisciplinary teams.
β’ Investigate failure modes and offer repair or remediation suggestions.
β’ Create reports and letters outlining the causes of damage for clients.
β’ Deliver deposition and expert testimony in product liability cases for civil, federal, and occasionally criminal courts.
β’ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field is required.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical engineering sector.
β’ Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of employment or the capability to obtain one within 12 months.
β’ Willingness to travel to client locations (25-30%); ability to work in adverse weather conditions and various environmental settings.
β’ Knowledge of forensic investigation practices and principles is advantageous.
β’ Preferably 5 years of experience in assessing electrical failures in commercial or industrial environments.
β’ Experience with power systems (generators, transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus; electro-mechanical experience is also desirable.
β’ Preferred experience working with attorneys, insurance companies, and claims adjusters.
