Project Cost Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Create technical variable and tooling cost estimates for components and systems utilizing activity-based costing techniques.

• Utilize BOM (Bill of Materials), drawings, and/or samples as reference materials.

• Offer subject matter expertise to assist engineering and purchasing at operational levels.

• Provide support to executive leadership throughout all stages of development.

• Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate suitable EDD.

• Collaborate with the team on Design to Cost initiatives and assess both piece and tooling costs.

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of piece costs and investments related to various manufacturing processes commonly used for the production of assigned commodities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Manufacturing from an ABET accredited institution.

• Experience in design, release, or processing roles, or other qualifications combined with relevant experience in developing EDD, variable, and/or tooling costs for automotive components.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Capability to manage multiple programs and cost details concurrently.

• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral).

• Basic technical knowledge (optional).

• High proficiency in English.
