This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct engaging, high-quality professional learning sessions, both in-person and virtually, that align with CharacterStrong’s curriculum (Tiers 1, 2, and 3) and implementation strategies.
• Offer virtual coaching calls and ongoing support to educators and school teams to enhance implementation fidelity and effectiveness.
• Act as the primary Professional Learning Specialist for LAUSD partners, fostering strong connections with school and district leaders.
• Assist with in-person sessions or district events in the greater LA area.
• Collaborate with the Director of Professional Learning Content to design, enhance, and optimize CharacterStrong professional learning content, materials, and session formats.
• Contribute to the creation and updating of content for CharacterStrong’s On-Demand Professional Development platform.
• Work alongside Curriculum and Product teams to ensure that PD content is in sync with curriculum updates and meets educator needs.
• Provide field insights from LAUSD and other partners to guide continuous improvements in content and services.
• Aid schools and districts in comprehending adult readiness, implementation phases, and effective PD structures.
• Assist in tailoring professional learning experiences to fulfill district objectives while aligning with CharacterStrong frameworks.
• Serve as a thought partner to educators regarding MTSS Tier 1, 2, and 3 practices and whole-staff engagement.
• Collaborate closely with the Professional Services team to align facilitation techniques, tools, and messaging.
• Engage in team meetings and reflective improvement cycles.
• Exemplify CharacterStrong’s values in all interactions with educators, partners, and colleagues.
• Over 3 years of experience in facilitating professional learning for educators, including virtual formats.
• Background as a school or district administrator, instructional coach, counselor, classroom teacher, or in a comparable school-based role.
• Strong grasp of adult learning theory and best practices in facilitation.
• Proven ability to cultivate relationships and trust with educators and school leaders.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
• Proficient in using virtual platforms and tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Google Slides, Google Workspace).
• Experience working within large urban districts, particularly LAUSD.
• Knowledge in social-emotional learning, MTSS, PBIS, or whole-child initiatives.
• Experience in developing professional learning content or curriculum design.
• Familiarity with implementation science or coaching for fidelity.
• Experience using project/content tools such as Notion or a learning management system.
• Must live within approximately two hours of the greater Los Angeles area and be able to support LAUSD partners.
