
Professional Coding Specialist II – Inpatient Notes, Multispecialty Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze and interpret medical record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures that impact inpatient stays or outpatient encounters.
• Assign the correct ICD-10, CPT, and modifier codes.
• Ensure accurate, high-quality, and timely coding, charging, and account abstraction for designated specialty areas.
• Continuously enhance coding knowledge through reviews, in-services, seminars, meetings, reference materials, and updates to coding manuals.
• Review the necessary data to ensure clean billing processes.
• Reach out to physicians and other personnel to gather information essential for precise coding.
• Collaborate with other offices to streamline billing processes.
• Monitor provider documentation and audit the accuracy of provider coding.
• Deliver education to providers as necessary.
• Support Revenue Cycle Operations with claim development and addressing issues related to patient accounts.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Current HIM/Coding Certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical coding.
• Professional experience in multispecialty environments.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Capability to sit for extended periods.
• Normal range of visual and hearing acuity.
• Manual dexterity to effectively operate computers and office equipment.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull weights between 10–20 pounds.
• Proficient in maintaining focus and accuracy despite frequent interruptions.
• Independent decision-making skills.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Competence in managing high-stress situations.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in the workplace.
• Organizational skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
