This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across 1 to 4 specialties
• Code Professional Fee, Facility, or HCC cases
• Offer coding services that support CorroHealth clients
• Calculate Professional Fee E/M levels utilizing the company's algorithm
• Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity
• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the highest available specificity
• Correctly assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS diagnosis and procedure codes
• Interpret coding guidelines for precise code assignment
• Evaluate documentation relevance to code assignment and its reimbursement implications
• Adhere to AHIMA ethical coding standards and the company’s ethics and compliance program
• Comply with internal policies and procedures
• Engage in company-provided training and educational opportunities
• Ensure privacy and security compliance while safeguarding confidential information, including Personal Health Information
• Meet the necessary productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks
• Execute additional duties as assigned by leadership
• Must hold certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)
• A minimum of 2 years of practical experience required
• Must sustain at least one credential via AAPC or AHIMA
• Proficient in EMR and billing systems
• Must possess a phone, a dependable internet connection, and current CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references
• Maintain a productivity and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
• Maintain a quality score of 95% or above
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including basic spreadsheet formulas, email management, and scheduling meetings
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in a professional context
• Ability to coordinate tasks, analyze information, observe details, make informed decisions, and meet deadlines
• Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required
• Capability to work independently from home
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS coding
• Ability to interpret coding guidelines and apply codes with the utmost specificity
• Capacity to work at a computer terminal for 6 to 8 hours each day
• Capability to sit for extended periods and lift or move materials weighing up to 20 lbs. as needed
