Professional Coding Specialist II – Anesthesia

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluates and accurately interprets medical record documentation from all accounts.

• Assigns the correct ICD-10, CPT, or modifier codes for each diagnosis and procedure.

• Ensures the quality and timely completion of coding, charging, and abstraction of accounts on a daily basis for assigned specialty areas.

• Maintains and improves current coding knowledge through quality reviews, participation in clinical in-services, coding seminars, and studying reference materials.

• Reaches out to physicians or any relevant individuals to gather information necessary for accurate coding assignments.

• Continuously monitors provider documentation.

• Offers support to Revenue Cycle Operations in the development of claims.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Current HIM/Coding Certification through ONE of the following: American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

• Two (2) years of experience in medical coding.

• Two (2) years of coding experience in a physician office (preferred).
