Production Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and provide support to a team of producers, technical directors, and editors across various productions.

• Lead the planning and supervision of production activities, which includes budgeting, financial oversight, scheduling, and resource management.

• Manage daily production logistics, staff coordination, and timelines.

• Act as the main liaison between production teams and leadership, ensuring effective and consistent communication.

• Supervise and enhance technical workflows across vendor studios, production software, and virtual production setups.

• Initiate and improve standardized processes to boost efficiency, mitigate risk, and remove single points of failure.

• Organize cross-training efforts to reinforce team redundancy and shared accountability.

• Document and revise processes as necessary to facilitate knowledge continuity.

• Assist in the launch of new shows, special projects, and the growth of in-house production capabilities.

• Proven track record in managing production operations within digital media, broadcasting, or remote cloud production settings.

• Strong sense of ownership — capable of functioning as the central operator for both production and technical aspects.

• Experience with cloud-based production systems (such as AWS or similar platforms), with the ability to oversee and manage environments developed by external partners.

• Demonstrated capability to lead and nurture teams, with hands-on management experience focused on creating cross-trained, highly collaborative groups.

• A systems-oriented thinker who emphasizes documentation, standardization, and the elimination of single points of failure in scheduling, technical knowledge, and workflows.

• Strong operational instincts — adept at identifying gaps, enhancing processes, and implementing scalable solutions to support long-term growth.

• Comfortable operating as the “general manager” of technical production — balancing people, processes, and technology to ensure consistent execution.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams, production staff, and leadership.

• Experience in developing or supporting teams that can work independently with confidence, upholding a high and consistent standard of execution.

• A proactive and inquisitive operator who is always eager to learn, remains detail-oriented, and takes the initiative to enhance processes and team performance.
