This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts, +1 more state.
• Act as the primary point of contact for R&D engineering, both internally and externally, concerning overall product technology.
• Sustain comprehensive knowledge of product architecture, which includes understanding requirements, design, applications, the technical roadmap, customer challenges, and technology trends.
• Spearhead the exploration, innovation, development, and deployment of product technology.
• Propel updates to the multi-generation product technology strategy and roadmap.
• Guide global functional engineering and application teams in the development of new products/applications and sustaining activities.
• Collaborate with the ITW innovation center on technology exploration, research, evaluation, and competitive analysis.
• Represent EAE to clients during sessions focused on product technology strategy and roadmap.
• Manage the IP strategy, roadmap, and development.
• Gather customer feedback, market trends, and priorities, translating them into multi-generation product/technology roadmaps.
• Lead the R&D core team in projects related to new product development.
• Provide input on resources and timelines for new development projects and initiatives.
• Represent ITW-EAE as a technical leader in product discussions at meetings, conferences, and forums through active participation, presentations, training, and contributions.
• A Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of pertinent experience in product design, development, technology management, or process/application development.
• Proficiency in end-to-end reflow soldering product development, which includes concept, design/development, testing, launch, and post-launch support.
• A solid understanding of reflow soldering processes and applications.
• A good grasp of current reflow solder technology trends.
• Familiarity with major reflow products on a global scale.
• Experience in direct customer interaction and in gathering the voice of the customer (VoC).
• Capability to conceptualize ideas based on marketing/customer requirements and to develop both short- and long-term technology roadmaps.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: experience with machine learning, intelligent machines, artificial intelligence, and their applications in reflow soldering.
• Preferred: experience in developing reflow thermal profiles.
• Strong communication and presentation skills suitable for global, cross-functional teams.
• High proficiency in problem-solving.
• Experience in creating technical value propositions.
