This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the initial lines of production code, establish the technical vision, and oversee the execution from start to finish.
• Define the fundamental architecture, engineering culture, and security framework, ensuring readiness for SOC 2, tenant isolation, encryption, and audit logging.
• Deliver a marketing review prototype into production with a design partner as an early adopter, subsequently providing communications surveillance, trading oversight, and audit-ready logging and reporting; launch GA v1 encompassing all core modules, excluding regulatory filings within 9 months, while extending into regulatory filings and enterprise integrations over the next 18 months.
• Manage the training and continuous evolution of the core AI/LLM model, ensuring delivery of robust and highly dependable analysis.
• Oversee the explainability component that generates audit-ready evidence on demand, alongside the reliability engineering that guarantees consistent platform performance in real-world scenarios.
• Act as the company representative to all customer groups and third-party stakeholders, including investors, serving as the technical spokesperson for the venture.
• Transition pilots into ten paying customers and achieve $1M ARR within 18 months, collaborating with the CEO on conversions and fundraising efforts.
• Recruit and guide the founding engineering and applied AI team, laying the cultural groundwork for the company.
• Experience in deploying LLM-powered systems in production environments where incorrect outputs had significant implications — not merely prototypes or demonstrations.
• Comprehensive expertise across applied LLMs, RAG, retrieval mechanisms, deterministic rules engines, human-in-the-loop workflows, observability, and secure multi-tenant SaaS (SOC 2, tenant isolation, encryption, audit logging).
• Strong beliefs regarding explainability and reliability engineering, cultivated through direct production experience.
• Preference for systems that deliver consistent performance in real-world applications over those that only perform well in controlled conditions.
• Prepared to function as a principal — establishing the technical agenda, making decisive decisions amid uncertainty, and taking ownership of the resulting outcomes.
• Highly preferred: previous experience as a founder, founding engineer, or in early-stage technical leadership; background in legal technology, RegTech, fintech compliance, healthcare, or another high-trust regulated sector; familiarity with the U.S. wealth management ecosystem, including SEC and FINRA workflows, marketing review, communications surveillance, and trade monitoring; direct experience in self-hosting or privately deploying foundational models.
• Opportunity to work on innovative projects at the forefront of technology.
• Collaborative and dynamic work environment fostering professional growth.
• Competitive compensation package with performance incentives.
• Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
• Flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance.
