This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Develop the initial lines of production code, set the technical vision, and oversee execution from start to finish.
β’ Define the essential architecture, cultivate the engineering culture, and establish a secure posture, ensuring readiness for SOC 2, tenant isolation, encryption, and audit logging.
β’ Launch a marketing review prototype into production in collaboration with an early adopter design partner, then provide communications surveillance, trading oversight, and audit-ready logs and reporting; deliver GA v1 encompassing all core modules except for regulatory filings within 9 months, with plans to extend into regulatory filings and enterprise integrations over the following 18 months.
β’ Take ownership of the training and ongoing development of the core AI/LLM model, delivering dependable and high-quality analysis.
β’ Manage the explainability layer that generates on-demand audit-ready evidence, and oversee the reliability engineering that guarantees consistent platform performance in real-world scenarios.
β’ Act as the technical representative of the company before all customer stakeholders, third-party interests, and investors.
β’ Transform pilots into ten paying customers and achieve $1M ARR within 18 months, collaborating with the CEO on customer conversion and fundraising efforts.
β’ Recruit and guide the founding engineering and applied AI team, laying the cultural groundwork for the company.
β’ Experience in deploying LLM-powered systems in production environments where incorrect outputs have significant consequences β beyond prototypes or demonstrations.
β’ Comprehensive confidence in full-stack technologies related to applied LLMs, RAG, retrieval, deterministic rules engines, human-in-the-loop workflows, observability, and secure multi-tenant SaaS (including SOC 2, tenant isolation, encryption, and audit logging).
β’ Strongly held beliefs about explainability and reliability engineering, shaped by direct production experience.
β’ Preference for systems that maintain consistent performance in the field rather than those that only perform well in controlled conditions.
β’ Willingness to function as a principal β setting the technical direction, making decisive decisions in uncertain situations, and taking responsibility for the resulting outcomes.
β’ Strongly preferred: previous experience as a founder, founding engineer, or in early-stage technical leadership; background in legal tech, RegTech, fintech compliance, healthcare, or other high-trust regulated sectors; familiarity with the U.S. wealth management ecosystem, including SEC and FINRA processes, marketing review, communications surveillance, and trade monitoring; direct experience in self-hosting or privately deploying foundational models.
