• Develop the fundamental architecture, engineering culture, and security framework, ensuring readiness for SOC 2, tenant isolation, encryption, and audit logging.
• Launch a marketing review prototype into production with a design partner as an early adopter, followed by the delivery of communications surveillance, trading oversight, audit-ready logs, and reporting; aim for the release of GA v1 encompassing all core modules aside from regulatory filings within 9 months, and broaden to include regulatory filings and enterprise integrations over an 18-month period.
• Manage the training and continuous improvement of the core AI/LLM model, providing robust and highly dependable analysis.
• Oversee the explainability layer that generates audit-ready evidence on demand, along with the reliability engineering that guarantees consistent platform performance in real-world applications.
• Act as the company's representative before all customer stakeholders, third-party interests, and investors, serving as the technical voice of the initiative.
• Transform pilots into ten paying customers and achieve $1M in ARR within 18 months, collaborating with the CEO on customer conversion and fundraising efforts.
• Assemble and lead the founding engineering and applied AI team, laying the cultural groundwork for the company.
• Experience in shipping LLM-powered systems into production environments where incorrect outputs had significant consequences — as opposed to prototypes or demonstrations.
• Strong full-stack expertise encompassing applied LLMs, RAG, retrieval, deterministic rules engines, human-in-the-loop workflows, observability, and secure multi-tenant SaaS (SOC 2, tenant isolation, encryption, audit logging).
• Well-developed beliefs regarding explainability and reliability engineering, honed through direct production experience.
• Preference for systems that maintain consistent performance in the field rather than those that only perform well in controlled environments.
• Prepared to take on the role of a principal — establishing the technical direction, making decisive calls amid uncertainty, and taking ownership of the resulting outcomes.
• Strongly preferred: previous founder, founding engineer, or experience in early-stage technical leadership; background in legal tech, RegTech, fintech compliance, healthcare, or other high-trust regulated sectors; familiarity with the U.S. wealth management landscape, including SEC and FINRA workflows, marketing review, communications surveillance, and trade monitoring; hands-on experience with self-hosting or privately deploying foundation models.
• Competitive salary and equity options.
• Flexible work hours and remote work opportunities.
• Comprehensive health benefits package.
• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
