This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Maintain proficiency in global regulations applicable to TOPPAN products, encompassing food contact regulations as well as those relevant to packaging for medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

• Aid in the exploration of new business opportunities by researching and overseeing emerging regulatory topics.

• Liaise with suppliers to secure precise and comprehensive regulatory documentation for raw materials.

• Record and convey product compliance status to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Address external inquiries to assist customers in fulfilling compliance obligations (e.g., FDA, Prop 65, allergens, REACH, CONEG, chemicals of concern).

• Assist technical teams in recognizing the necessity for third-party analytical testing (e.g., migration, extraction).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including R&D, Supply Management, Legal, Quality, and Sales—to deliver regulatory guidance.

• Monitor regulatory updates and evaluate their implications for TOPPAN products.

• Identify potential regulatory risks and aid in developing mitigation strategies.

• Track and foresee substances of concern for customers and consumers.

• Represent TOPPAN at conferences, demonstrating commitment to food safety and compliance topics.

• Support Quality-led initiatives such as FSSC, plant-level audits and certifications, and FDA site registration.

• Provide continuous education and training to members of the regulatory team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in evaluating consumer packaging for regulatory compliance or related fields.

• Educational qualifications in a scientific discipline such as packaging engineering, chemistry, toxicology, or a comparable area.

• In-depth knowledge of regional food contact regulations, including those applicable in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Europe, South America, and Asia.

• Familiarity with regional migration testing requirements.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in communicating complex information clearly and succinctly to varied audiences.

• Capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
