This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with researchers in ML and Computational Chemistry to convert internal scientific code and prototypes into reliable, production-ready software systems for external product offerings.
• Develop and incorporate essential scientific algorithms (ML, deep learning, physics-based simulation) into scalable product platforms.
• Work within a cross-functional "pod" consisting of engineers, computational chemists, AI specialists, and product managers to outline requirements, architecture, and deployment plans for new features.
• Maintain the scientific integrity and precision of research models (e.g., active learning, FEP, etc.) when implemented in production environments.
• Lead the product lifecycle from scientific conception to external rollout, ensuring both technical excellence and market relevance.
• PhD in chemistry, biology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of pertinent experience in a product-centric engineering or applied science role, particularly in converting ML or computational chemistry research into production software in the private sector (biotech/pharma preferred).
• Background in deploying and maintaining machine learning models for scientific purposes (e.g., molecular property prediction, multi-objective optimization).
• Expertise in Python toolkits for scientific computing (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy) as well as machine learning (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch).
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to collaborating with colleagues to identify challenges and articulate technical solutions in an understandable way.
