Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of prioritizing development tasks for the Archives product, working under the guidance of the VP of Product, who will collaborate with you to advance the product's strategy.

• Engage in the Agile process, including coordination with remote team members, serving as the subject matter expert for the Archives product and its user base.

• Advocate for archivists during feature planning, spearheading the development of new functionalities from a user-centric viewpoint—comprehending workflows related to accessioning, arrangement, description, preservation, and access.

• Communicate with users both virtually and in person to gain a thorough understanding of the challenges they face; conduct product demonstrations for internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Support development teams in delivering a consistent and user-friendly experience for the Archives product.

• Remain up-to-date with archival standards and best practices (ISAD(G), DACS, ISAAR(CPF), EAD, Dublin Core) and comprehend how these inform product specifications.

• Work collaboratively across departments with Customer Success, Sales, and Support teams to collect feedback and pinpoint areas for product enhancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A post-secondary degree or certificate in a relevant field is mandatory (such as Library Science, Information Science, History, Archival Studies, Computer Science, or a related discipline).

• 3-5 years of experience in a technical setting or with archives/records management systems is essential.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are essential for this position.

• A knack for grasping technical concepts and the capability to explain them to individuals with less technical backgrounds is vital for your success.

• Familiarity with a development task-management system for backlog prioritization would be beneficial.
