📋 Description

• Ensure that the products assigned remain competitive in the market by collaborating with Sales and other internal/external stakeholders to identify issues and competitive gaps, followed by developing product solutions necessary to maintain and enhance the product portfolio.

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and primary contact for assigned products and contract information across all markets, fostering comprehensive organizational knowledge of each product line.

• Conduct research on current market trends and competitor offerings to pinpoint gaps in product offerings and sustain a competitive product portfolio.

• Utilize findings to propose product enhancements or initiate new product development.

• Stay informed about federal and state regulations, participating in trade association forums, to ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements and standards.

• Collaborate with Legal/Compliance to update products as necessary.

• Consistently assess and maintain the competitiveness of assigned products by identifying issues, barriers, or emerging concerns and recommending suitable courses of action.

• Ensure that solutions align with business needs and support the overall corporate strategy.

• Work in partnership with SLDA Product leadership, Underwriting, Actuarial, and Finance teams to evaluate the financial performance of products and decide if modifications are needed to keep them profitable and competitive.

• Keep product information current (Product Reference Guides, Product Availability, product training materials).

• Ensure that both internal and external partners have access to the latest product information.

• Independently manage product enhancement initiatives from opportunity assessment to implementation, including problem definition, solution design, and prioritizing enhancements in line with customer needs and corporate strategy.

• Oversee, coordinate, and draft updates to policy language, contracts, plan documents, and benefit summaries for the assigned products.

• Organize approvals from Legal/Compliance and other authorities prior to implementing changes to product documents or customer-facing materials.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

• 3-5 years of experience in product management or product development within the relevant product line fields, or 5-7 years of leadership experience in the assigned product line or group benefits insurance.

• Strong understanding of the insurance product lifecycle management and the specific product domain.

• Essential familiarity with industry terminology and regulatory standards (e.g., insurance regulations).

• Capability to analyze market data and competitive intelligence to inform product decisions.

• A comprehensive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

• Ability to build strong partnerships with a diverse range of teams (Actuary, Marketing, Sales, Operations, IT, etc.) to align priorities and achieve shared outcomes.

• Skill in clearly communicating concepts to diverse audiences through polished, well-organized presentations and materials.

• Experience in developing and implementing product marketing and support materials (such as managing website content and creating collateral) to facilitate product launches and ongoing product management.

• Self-motivated with robust project management abilities, capable of handling multiple complex tasks and coordinating competing priorities independently, with minimal supervision.
