Product Manager – Data Engineering, Fleet Telemetry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Outline the multi-year strategy for our data ingestion platform, data lake, and telemetry systems.

• Take ownership of the comprehensive IoT telemetry strategy—capturing data from various solar inverters and EV chargers in both residential and commercial projects.

• Work alongside engineering teams to architect scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data storage solutions for high-frequency time-series data.

• Collaborate with Technical Operations to harmonize data models across different original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

• Define the telemetry and control interface requirements for our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) initiative.

• Convert business needs from asset managers and analysts into technical specifications for data engineering teams.

• Set service level agreements (SLAs) for data availability, latency, and accuracy across the entire fleet.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in product management.

• More than 3 years of experience in data engineering, IoT platforms, or data-driven B2B SaaS products.

• Proven track record in the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, storage) or smart grid technologies (VPP, DERMS).

• Solid understanding of IoT protocols (MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA), cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and data processing technologies (Kafka, Spark).

• Expertise in SQL and the ability to analyze large datasets to inform data-driven decisions.

• Capability to map intricate physical-to-digital workflows and streamline them through automation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (preferred).

• Experience in creating real-time monitoring dashboards or predictive maintenance tools (preferred).

• Familiarity with energy market telemetry requirements (ISO/RTO) (preferred).
