This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement a 12-month strategic roadmap for the platform’s control and safety layers, with an emphasis on innovations that enhance autonomy and machine intelligence.
• Lead the discovery phase by performing various research methods and engaging with stakeholders to pinpoint needs, ensuring that customer-centric requirements are established prior to the commencement of technical development.
• Position FORT’s safety-critical architecture as a key market differentiator, guaranteeing that the product vision aligns with global standards and fosters customer trust.
• Spearhead technical proposal initiatives for high-stakes innovative projects. Identify and target new sectors that align with the platform’s vision, ensuring FORT continues to set the benchmark for safety governance across various industries.
• Coordinate a tool-agnostic requirement architecture that promotes simplicity and clarity for engineering teams while ensuring strict compliance with ISO 9001 and SIL standards.
• Serve as the strategic lead for global regulatory changes (e.g., EU Machinery Regulation, Cyber Resilience Act), ensuring that the platform stays ahead of compliance requirements.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of and ensure product adherence to critical functional safety standards, including ISO 13849 and IEC 61508.
• Actively monitor the evolving security landscape, embedding security-by-design principles into all functional requirements.
• Manage the requirement lifecycle for safety-critical hardware-software interfaces and controls integration.
• Conduct high-level trade studies and impact assessments to guarantee technical alignment across all platform layers, minimizing risk and enhancing system reliability for both existing and new projects.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering and Safety teams to oversee certification initiatives (e.g., SIL 3) and ensure the control layer meets the highest standards of "Definition of Done."
• Simplify complex system architectures into clear, value-oriented narratives for executive leadership and external partners.
• Facilitate the smooth transition of features through the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC), ensuring that compliance processes enhance rather than obstruct development speed.
• Analyze field data and support trends to identify systemic improvements, ensuring the long-term stability and scalability of the control ecosystem.
• Function as the Product Owner, managing the control backlog and ensuring that all product decisions are based on validated metrics.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to create technical documents, user guidance, and launch strategies for new cloud and data products.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in Product Management or Systems Engineering within high-integrity environments (e.g., aerospace, robotics, or medical sectors).
• Profound understanding of functional safety principles and the ability to manage products at the intersection of intricate logic and physical machine control.
• Extensive knowledge of the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) and experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks for complex systems.
• Proficient in Monday.com and Jira for roadmap and project management; experienced with advanced requirement management platforms and system modeling tools.
• Familiar with embedded systems, Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), and safety-critical hardware/software integration.
• Demonstrated ability to support business development for complex government and industrial contracts, focusing on creating new market opportunities.
• Strong collaborative abilities with a talent for influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Highly motivated to achieve ambitious goals, with evident motivation aligned with the company’s core mission.
