This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development and expansion of our hyperspectral products, establishing a clear strategy and making principled trade-offs amidst competing priorities, constraints, and uncertainties to drive revenue growth as the constellation expands.

• Propel commercial growth by increasing our presence in the methane market and strategically adapting the product portfolio to explore new markets to achieve product-market alignment.

• Collaborate with Platform Product teams to ensure customers can efficiently task, order, and access our products.

• Develop and uphold the Product Roadmap for our Hyperspectral Offering, integrating feedback from customers and internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Customer Success, etc.) while making clear, accountable prioritization decisions in line with company strategy.

• Work closely with Sales and Product Marketing to effectively communicate the value of hyperspectral-derived products for targeted markets.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration among Engineering, Science, and Commercial teams, ensuring clear direction while navigating ambiguity and evolving limitations.

• Partner with Solutions teams to investigate how Tanager data can enhance Planet's internal products.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a power user of satellite imagery, remote sensing, and GIS, ideally with a background in hyperspectral imagery.

• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate risk, and make high-quality decisions with incomplete information, showcasing strong product judgment and a successful history of making tough trade-offs without relying on consensus.

• Experience in sectors where advanced sensing can be utilized, such as defense, atmospheric sciences, agriculture, energy, environmental conservation, or geology.

• Strong grasp of the advantages and challenges associated with processing and analyzing Earth Observation (EO) data.

• Demonstrated ability to exceed customer expectations.

• Background in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Exceptional executive communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational abilities.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
