• Possess exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Assist in the creation and evaluation of program documentation, training materials, and manuals.
• Collaborate with diverse teams, including legal, public policy, business, and operations, to ensure the accuracy and relevance of accounting processes and systems.
• Identify potential areas for process enhancement and propose changes to boost efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive research to remain informed about updates in accounting standards and regulations.
• Review and approve content developed by others for accuracy and completeness.
• Address specific inquiries and provide guidance based on expert accounting and software development knowledge.
• Lead and manage the integration of accounting software solutions to enhance process efficiency and data accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software implementation and integration.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure effective audit logging, system integrations, and system monitoring.
• Provide training and support to team members on new software applications and tools.
• Define the vision, goals, and success metrics for the products and services under your management.
• Work alongside designers, business analysts, and technical leads to gather and synthesize market research, user needs, business requirements, and technical approaches.
• Outline the direction, scope, and priority of projects, ranging from high-level initiatives to specific features, user stories, and business metrics.
• Proactively engage, iterate on, and build consensus for product initiatives with the team, government partners, and other contractors.
• Collaborate with the project management team to prioritize roadmaps and incoming work units.
• Represent Nava's outcome-focused and user-centric approach in discovery meetings with agencies and contractors.
• Understand and convey the needs of end users and the population segments we serve, as well as the government partners we collaborate with.
• Measure product progress toward business goals or user needs, converting data insights into actionable steps.
• Make tactical decisions to enhance design, define requirements, and secure stakeholder buy-in for the desired forward direction.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Product Manager leading a cross-functional team.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong grasp of financial measurement tools and accounting principles.
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with state government regulations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in running and/or launching consumer web applications.
• Ability to create compelling product plans and gain buy-in from the team, government partners, and other contractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for discussing technical, user experience, and project management trade-offs; enthusiastic communicator.
• Strong bias toward action; capable of stepping in to fill team gaps and navigate ambiguous situations to structure action plans.
• Ability to execute with incomplete information; possesses excellent product instincts and can create order from diverse needs.
• Ability to define a product objective and logically reverse engineer the path and communications to achieve that objective.
• Capacity to identify market trends and shifts that may impact product direction and adjust plans based on future expectations.
