
Product IP and AI Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
β’ Interpret and implement changing legal requirements, government policies, and industry best practices related to IP, federal data rights, AI, open-source software, and secure software development.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product/asset management, proposals, delivery, contracting, pricing, cybersecurity, and supply chain to create innovative commercialization strategies.
β’ Structure, draft, and negotiate contracts, terms of use, and templates for new software, SaaS, and managed services.
β’ Provide guidance on IP protection, inbound and outbound IP licensing, strategic partnerships, and resolving IP disputes.
β’ Oversee intercompany IP initiatives and transfers in collaboration with global IP and asset licensing teams.
β’ Drive initiatives related to open-source software, technology partnerships, the integration of acquired technologies, asset and service readiness, and responsible AIβdeveloping robust mitigation strategies and conducting regular risk assessments.
β’ U.S. citizenship.
β’ Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
β’ Active membership in a state bar. If not a member of the Virginia State Bar, must possess or obtain a corporate counsel certificate from the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners or register as in-house counsel with the Virginia State Bar.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of legal experience focused on IP, software or cloud service product counseling, AI, and/or government contracting.
