Product Engineer – UI-Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire UI and product features in Horizon — from identifying user issues to establishing information architecture to delivering a refined, polished experience. You determine what "done" means.

• Set the standard for user interactions with Horizon — including the web app experience, user flows, and simplifying complex governance concepts for clarity.

• Leverage your expertise in front-end technologies — TypeScript, React, and related web technologies — while exercising the discernment to *guide* AI development tools rather than rely on them.

• Act as a collaborative partner within the team — work closely to ensure product and UX direction is a collaborative effort, rather than an individual responsibility.

• Transform enterprise insights into product features — collaborate with GTM and customers to convert the "enterprise-friendly" narrative (gateway plugins, PII filtering, audit logs, SCIM) into experiences that buyers can easily comprehend.

• Produce maintainable, efficient full-stack code — while your primary focus is on the product interface, you are also proficient across the stack when required by the feature.

• Cultivate a thorough understanding of the MCP ecosystem and the AI/LLM tooling landscape.

• Engage in on-call duty and incident response while helping uphold production reliability standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of full-stack engineering experience with a focus on front-end development, showcasing success in delivering user-facing products that are intuitive.

• Proven experience in navigating high-ambiguity, early-stage environments without a dedicated PM or design team. You possess the seniority to gather insights from across the organization and provide constructive feedback to the team — including on UX matters.

• Strong front-end expertise: proficient in TypeScript, React, and contemporary UI libraries (e.g., TanStack), along with a solid grasp of the foundational web technologies — sufficient to guide AI tools rather than depend on them for technical direction.

• Excellent product and UX judgment. You conceptualize user flows, information architecture, and practical product usage, possessing the insights and skills to support your perspectives. (This encompasses UI in a broad sense — integrating UX thinking *and* front-end engineering — not limited to styling/CSS or pure user research.)

• Comfortable working across the entire stack, with your emphasis on the product interface.

• Experience or genuine interest in the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI/LLM tooling. You actively monitor developments in this area.

• Self-motivated with sound judgment and clear communication skills.

• Proficient in AI development tools. You have delivered significant work using Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools. You hold yourself accountable for their outputs: guiding them with specifications that are understandable by both humans and machines, and using them to foster a high-trust production environment for users. You can optimize their use and identify when they hinder progress.

• A formal design background is not necessary.
