Product Engineer – FDE

📋 Description

• You will engage directly with customers in your local market, onsite as necessary, to gain a comprehensive understanding of their workflows, challenges, and what defines “success” in practical terms.

• You will spearhead technical discovery, solution design, and execution for impactful customer deployments, including integrations, data onboarding, workflow configuration, and new product features essential for driving value.

• You will develop and deploy production code that enhances Partly’s core SaaS + API platform, frequently collaborating with users in tight feedback loops while ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability remain intact.

• You will bridge the gap between customer requirements and our product/engineering roadmap, transforming ambiguous challenges into clear specifications, defined milestones, and quantifiable results.

• You will take on the role of hands-on technical owner for post-launch deployments, addressing live issues, enhancing observability, fortifying edge cases, and promoting ongoing improvement.

• You will gain expertise in the intricate (and often chaotic) auto parts industry, assisting customers in modernizing their processes for sourcing, identifying, and transacting parts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in building and delivering complex software in live production settings.

• Strong customer empathy combined with product thinking: you can transform real-world workflows into practical solutions.

• Comfortable managing the entire lifecycle: discovery → design → build → deploy → operate → iterate.

• Solid understanding of engineering principles: APIs, testing, system design, data structures, and debugging.

• Capability to work across various teams: you can effectively collaborate with customer IT teams, operations teams, and internal product/engineering stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication.

• Experience in integrating with external systems (APIs, webhooks, EDI/FTP/file feeds, SSO) and handling imperfect data.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and make swift, informed trade-offs (time-to-value versus long-term maintainability).

• (Bonus) Experience in forward-deployed roles, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or implementation.

• (Bonus) Familiarity with automotive parts, repairer/supplier workflows, or related B2B marketplaces.

• (Bonus) Experience with Rust or a strong interest in learning it.
