Product Engineer – FDE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ You will engage with customers in your local market, providing onsite support as necessary to gain a comprehensive understanding of their workflows, limitations, and definitions of β€œsuccess” in practical scenarios.

β€’ You will spearhead technical discovery, solution design, and implementation for significant customer deployments, including integrations, data onboarding, workflow configuration, and new product functionalities essential for delivering value.

β€’ You will develop and deploy production code that enhances Partly's core SaaS + API platform, often collaborating closely with users while ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability are not compromised.

β€’ You will bridge the gap between customer requirements and our product/engineering roadmap by transforming vague problems into well-defined requirements, scoped milestones, and measurable results.

β€’ You will take on the role of the hands-on technical lead for deployments after launch, managing live issues, enhancing observability, addressing edge cases, and promoting continuous improvement.

β€’ You will become a knowledgeable expert in the intricate (and often chaotic) auto parts sector, assisting customers in modernizing their processes for sourcing, identifying, and transacting parts.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of 3 years of experience in building and delivering complex software in production settings.

β€’ Strong customer empathy and product insight: capable of translating real-world workflows into effective solutions.

β€’ Comfortable managing the entire lifecycle: discovery β†’ design β†’ build β†’ deploy β†’ operate β†’ iterate.

β€’ Solid grounding in engineering principles: APIs, testing methodologies, system architecture, data structures, and debugging techniques.

β€’ Ability to collaborate across various teams: proficient in working with customer IT departments, operations teams, and internal product/engineering stakeholders, demonstrating clear written and verbal communication.

β€’ Experience in integrating with external systems (APIs, webhooks, EDI/FTP/file feeds, SSO) and addressing challenges posed by imperfect data.

β€’ Capable of functioning effectively in ambiguous situations and making prompt, informed tradeoffs (balancing time-to-value with long-term maintainability).

β€’ (Bonus) Experience in forward-deployed roles, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or implementation.

β€’ (Bonus) Familiarity with automotive parts, repairer/supplier processes, or related B2B marketplaces.

β€’ (Bonus) Experience with Rust or a strong interest in acquiring knowledge about it.
