This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the product development process from initial concept to production across various product categories.
• Convert design ideas into technically sound and commercially viable products.
• Create detailed product specifications, including materials, trims, construction methods, and functional requirements.
• Identify potential development challenges early and proactively address issues before they affect timelines or product quality.
• Keep a strong grasp of development calendars and critical milestones to ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Apply keen aesthetic judgment and product taste to ensure alignment with brand standards.
• Leverage extensive knowledge of fabric, construction, and fit to influence development decisions.
• Assess and review prototypes and samples to confirm they meet design intent, quality standards, and performance criteria.
• Collaborate with both domestic and international vendors to create prototypes, samples, and pre-production units.
• Effectively communicate technical requirements and offer actionable feedback to factories.
• Oversee sample tracking, development timelines, and vendor communication across multiple projects.
• Foster strong relationships with factory partners to facilitate efficient product development and execution.
• Source and assess fabrics, trims, hardware, and components that align with product and cost specifications.
• Work closely with sourcing teams and vendors to meet target costs while preserving product integrity.
• Maintain development calendars and ensure all key milestones are met across all product programs.
• Collaborate with Design and Technical Development teams to evaluate samples based on fabric, color, construction, durability, functionality, and overall product quality.
• Over 6 years of product development experience in apparel, accessories, or consumer products.
• Proven experience in developing soft goods across all categories, including apparel, accessories, and bags.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, hardware, and construction techniques.
• Experience collaborating with overseas vendors and global manufacturing partners.
• Ability to provide clear visual and technical feedback to vendors.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and managing product data.
• Proficiency in Excel and product development tools.
• Outstanding communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
