Product Designer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the design process for designated initiatives — from framing the problem and conducting research to prototyping, validating, and collaborating on implementation.

• Execute and synthesize research through user interviews, usability tests, and data analysis to confirm design choices and guide product strategy.

• Collaborate with product managers to shape solutions — aiding in problem definition, outlining strategies, and setting success criteria during the early stages of requirement development.

• Develop user flows, diagrams, Figma designs, and coded prototypes that effectively convey direction to stakeholders and engineering teams.

• Engage and collaborate within shared code repositories — reviewing existing prototypes, iterating within an IDE with AI support, and teaming up with engineers during the implementation phase.

• Work alongside engineering to maintain design integrity while accommodating technical limitations.

• Participate in design critiques to enhance the overall quality of the team’s output.

• Advocate for user-centered design in a regulated environment — where trust, auditability, and operational clarity are just as critical as aesthetics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

• 3–5 years of experience in product design, preferably involving complex or regulated products (such as fintech, healthcare, enterprise B2B, insurance, or similar fields).

• A portfolio showcasing systems thinking, a disciplined approach from research to deployment, and attention to interaction and visual detail.

• Proven history of delivering impactful product work, even when the journey from research to production is not straightforward.

• Proficiency in Figma and contemporary prototyping techniques.

• Required: Practical experience in building or iterating on designs within an IDE or code-based environment (e.g., Cursor, VS Code with AI assistants, Claude Code) — not just observing engineers during prototyping.

• Required: Ability to read and navigate coded prototypes and collaborate within repositories alongside engineering and product partners.

• Strong preference: Demonstrated integration of AI in your daily design routine — including specific examples of tasks you automate, those you retain as human-driven, and instances of failure.

• Experience in contributing to or working within design systems and component libraries.

• Strong analytical abilities; adept at utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data to guide decisions.

• Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of successful cross-functional collaborations.

• Comfort with navigating ambiguity and making advancements despite incomplete information.
