This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop design solutions for intricate user and business challenges utilizing an outcome-oriented design methodology.
• Engage in the various phases of the product innovation cycle: from sketches and concepts to interactive prototypes and complete product interface designs.
• Oversee the entire product design process, encompassing client relations, workshop facilitation, discovery, strategy, UI design, and final deliverable hand-off.
• Create artifacts and tools that effectively communicate decisions and facilitate change within large organizations, including customer journeys, user flows, scenarios, wireframes, functional prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Collaborate across agile multidisciplinary teams, guiding and facilitating the design process through internal discussions and working sessions to achieve a unified understanding of user needs.
• Infuse empathy, creativity, and a collaboratively constructive mindset to deliver outstanding design experiences in both aesthetics and functionality, while enhancing client experiences.
• Assist in UX research initiatives, such as workshops, user interviews, and usability testing, to inform design choices.
• Consolidate various inputs and feedback sources to clarify complex subjects, creating cohesive and engaging narratives, visions, and designs.
• Employ a comprehensive understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles.
• Recognize the technological and business landscapes where opportunities arise, linking product features directly to business outcomes and user/customer objectives.
• Champion accessibility and inclusivity in digital service design, ensuring adherence to WCAG and government accessibility standards.
• 3-5+ years of experience in Product Design.
• Background in a consulting or digital innovation agency setting.
• Familiarity with designing for government services, healthcare, enterprise software, or complex systems.
• Strong product thinking with a user-centered focus.
• Experience working with design systems for large-scale digital products.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional user experiences by applying design thinking or human-centered design methodologies that integrate user needs into design processes, solutions, and service enhancements.
• Competence in exploring various design solutions for specific problems or features and visually communicating those solutions through sketches, user flows, wireframes, functional prototypes, and/or high-fidelity designs when necessary.
• Proficiency in design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch, Miro, and a willingness to learn new software as needed.
• Experience utilizing AI-assisted tools and methodologies to foster innovative working approaches and thought processes.
• Strong grasp of Agile methodologies, Lean UX, and iterative design processes, with the ability to transition systematically from open-ended challenges to well-reasoned solutions.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams within fast-paced, agile environments.
• Strong ownership of your design process with a solutions-oriented approach to maintain momentum and achieve results.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1+), usability best practices, and inclusive design principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting and defending complex ideas and design choices with clarity and diplomacy.
• A continuous learning mindset, keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven context.
