• Take full charge of product design for the merchant team, overseeing everything from initial discovery and user research to final UI implementation and collaboration with engineers.
• Lead user research initiatives by conducting merchant interviews and surveys, joining sales and customer calls, and translating insights into clear product direction.
• Collaborate with engineering and the founding team to establish the merchant roadmap, outline features, and deliver promptly while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
• Create clear and thoughtfully designed user flows in Figma, along with the visual UI that supports them.
• Leverage AI tools (such as Claude, Cursor, Cowork, v0, etc.) to prototype, validate, and refine ideas more rapidly than conventional design processes allow.
• Work alongside our team to enhance and sustain the Flex design system.
• Step in across the organization when necessary (occasional marketing materials, website adjustments, or one-off tasks) without it being explicitly part of your job description.
• Foster a culture of learning, problem-solving, and operational excellence.
• Over 3 years of experience as a product designer, preferably with experience at a high-growth startup or a fast-paced product team.
• A traditional, user-centric product designer: you begin by understanding the user and the challenge before crafting the experience, with visual refinement following.
• Proficient in the core aspects of product design: adept in both user research and visual design, with a primary strength in developing user flows and experiences that bridge them.
• Highly skilled in Figma; it is your main design tool.
• Strong cross-functional collaborator: you have collaborated closely with engineers and business stakeholders on a daily basis, not just fellow designers.
• Comfortable in user-facing scenarios: you are willing to engage with major merchants to delve into their experiences or participate in sales calls to gain insights into prospect thoughts.
• Actively incorporate AI into your design workflow for prototyping, exploration, or enhancing your efficiency, and stay updated as the design industry evolves.
• Possess a low ego, resourcefulness, curiosity, and enthusiasm for taking on multiple roles in an early-stage company.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate ownership and follow through on commitments.
• Competitive compensation and equity package.
• Flexible, remote-friendly work environment.
