Product Design Lead

• Take ownership of the experience strategy and set quality standards for your domain.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders as an equal partner in strategy development.

• Enhance the design system to bridge any gaps identified in your area.

• Conduct research to identify non-obvious issues.

• Assist engineering teams in resolving complex questions where ideal design meets practical constraints.

• Establish practices, critiques, filing standards, and handoff processes that enable a small team to work efficiently without compromising quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• A robust portfolio showcasing shipped product designs for complex, systems-heavy products.

• Proven experience in leading designers, whether formally or as a senior figure looked to by others.

• In-depth skills across interaction, visual, and information architecture.

• A track record of managing a domain from start to finish, addressing ambiguous problems and delivering outcomes.

• The discernment to decide when to delve deep and when to take action, along with the independence to manage an area without close oversight.

• Nice to have:

• Familiarity with payments, financial services, or other regulated, high-stakes sectors.

• Experience in building or enhancing a design system in a production environment.
