This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of the experience strategy and quality standards for your area.
• Lead and nurture a growing team of designers.
• Remain actively involved in design work, tackling the most challenging problems.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders as an equal partner in strategic discussions.
• Enhance the design system wherever your domain reveals a gap.
• Conduct research to identify non-obvious issues.
• Assist engineering teams in navigating complex questions where optimal design intersects with real-world constraints.
• Establish practices, critiques, standards, and handoffs that enable a small team to operate efficiently without compromising quality.
• A compelling portfolio showcasing product design for complex, systems-intensive products.
• Proven experience in leading designers, either formally or as a senior figure that others turn to.
• Deep expertise in interaction design, visual aesthetics, and information architecture.
• A track record of managing a domain from start to finish, from undefined problems to delivered solutions.
• The discernment to determine when to dive deep into details and when to progress, along with the independence to manage an area with minimal oversight.
• Nice to have:
