Product Design Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Spearhead design initiatives from inception to completion with full autonomy and authority, encompassing discovery, ideation, workshops, definition, high-fidelity design, design systems, handoff, and visual quality assurance.

• Organize and facilitate design workshops, client review sessions, user research, and user testing activities.

• Collaborate with the Big Human design team to address intricate product and UI challenges; contribute directly to design work as necessary.

• Offer constructive feedback and mentorship to ensure that the output adheres to high visual standards and integrates best practices.

• Lead, mentor, and support designers at both individual and team levels by providing strategic design guidance.

• Clearly articulate and advocate for design choices to clients and internal stakeholders.

• Manage ambiguity and adapt swiftly to shifting priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

• Supervise and provide creative direction for 1–2 additional concurrent projects beyond your own hands-on involvement, ensuring quality and consistency among other designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in product design, with mandatory agency experience.

• A top-tier portfolio that demonstrates complex products featuring strong visual design, UI/UX, prototyping, typography, and visual hierarchy.

• Expert knowledge of user-centric and data-informed product design; strategic decision-making based on data, research, analytics, and business context.

• Proven experience in designing mobile applications, web products, and marketing websites.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to convey design decisions to clients and stakeholders effectively.

• Advanced proficiency in Figma and a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.

• Adaptable in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, possessing the initiative to ask questions during uncertain times.
