This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Provide legal advice to Product, Engineering, and various cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Evaluate and provide insights on new products, features, and initiatives, offering timely, business-focused legal guidance that balances risk management with innovation and speed of execution.
• Advise teams on matters related to intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, AI, security, and regulatory issues impacting company products.
• Create scalable legal guidance, policies, playbooks, and training resources that enable teams to make well-informed decisions.
• Collaborate with colleagues in commercial, privacy, security, compliance, and corporate legal to address cross-functional legal matters and ensure alignment.
• Stay informed on emerging legal, regulatory, and industry trends and convert them into practical guidance.
• Undertake additional related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 4-7 years of pertinent legal experience providing counsel to SaaS companies.
• Exhibit high-quality legal analysis, meticulous attention to detail, and execution across a wide array of product counseling issues.
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written), capable of clearly articulating and defending risk analysis while effectively conveying complex concepts to technical, business, legal, and executive audiences.
• Ability to work efficiently in ambiguous and fast-paced settings while managing competing priorities and business goals to achieve results.
• Innovative mindset with a knack for identifying solutions where others perceive obstacles.
• Experience advising companies in software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and developer tools regarding open-source software licensing, compliance, and governance is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI tools (such as Claude or similar) to improve legal workflow efficiency.
