This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Take ownership of the complete contract lifecycle for software, SaaS, infrastructure, hardware, security, and professional services agreements to support IT, Security, Product, and Engineering.
• Collaborate with technical leaders to grasp requirements, formulate sourcing strategies, and facilitate vendor selection.
• Oversee RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes from initiation to contract finalization.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and risk-related language in contracts alongside the Legal team.
• Create category strategies and proactive sourcing plans.
• Handle a substantial volume of simultaneous sourcing and contracting requests.
• Prioritize tasks based on business urgency and impact.
• Assess incoming demand and align procurement efforts with high-value projects.
• Manage vendor relationships and portfolio health, including performance, renewals, and risk management.
• Engage stakeholders ranging from engineers to senior executives.
• Collaborate with Legal and Finance on governance, policy enhancement, and process maturity.
• Contribute to procurement transformation, intake/orchestration technology, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Act as a senior knowledge resource, sharing expertise in category management and commercial insights.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a procurement manager, demonstrating a successful track record in leading mid-to-large sourcing events and managing category responsibilities.
• Direct experience in sourcing technical categories, including IT, Security, Product, or Engineering spend—encompassing software licensing models (SaaS, consumption-based, enterprise), cloud infrastructure agreements, API and data services, or developer and security tools.
• Strong commercial acumen: capable of assessing vendor capabilities, negotiating pricing and terms, and balancing cost, quality, and risk.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads while maintaining rigor and responsiveness.
• Ability to engage credibly with engineers, product and security leaders, legal counsel, and senior executives, translating technical needs into effective sourcing strategies.
• Project management skills: adept at tracking RFx timelines, managing multiple stakeholder inputs, and driving projects to completion.
• Skilled negotiator with a history of achieving cost savings, risk mitigation, and enhanced commercial results.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with comfort in working with data and spreadsheets.
• Capacity to work independently while taking manager-level ownership of outcomes in an individual contributor role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in Google Workspace or similar tools.
• Willingness to undertake additional functional duties as needed.
• Must reside in Costa Rica.
• A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, procurement, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI tools, procurement AI use cases, Coupa or comparable procurement platforms, intake/orchestration platforms, Smartsheet.
