Principal Technologist – AI and Data Center Networking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical architecture for DriveNets' most intricate and high-value client projects involving AI/HPC GPU fabric design and extensive data center network infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Architects from the initial discovery phase through to deal finalization.

• Spearhead proof-of-concept design and execution, which includes establishing success criteria, benchmarking plans, and communicating results.

• Interact with engineering leads, network architects, and executive stakeholders at hyperscalers, NeoClouds, and large enterprises.

• Gather insights from customer engagements and convert them into actionable requirements for Product Management and Engineering.

• Develop and disseminate architecture playbooks, reference designs, and best practices.

• Guide and mentor Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers.

• Represent DriveNets at industry events, as well as author white papers and technical blogs.

• Act as a senior technical authority and thought leader in complex pre-sales processes for AI networking and data center infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in data center networking architecture and design.

• A minimum of 3 years dedicated to AI/HPC infrastructure or hyperscale environments.

• Significant hands-on experience with large-scale switching and routing technologies, including BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, QoS, PFC, ECN, NETCONF, YANG, and REST APIs.

• Demonstrated senior pre-sales, solutions architecture, or system architecture experience influencing large, complex deals involving VP and C-level stakeholders.

• Familiarity with x86 virtualization technologies, including DPDK, SR-IOV, and SmartNICs/DPUs.

• Proven experience leading technical responses to RFPs/RFQs and managing solution architecture documentation comprehensively.

• Proficiency in Python, APIs, and JSON for network operations and solution integration.

• Outstanding communication and presentation capabilities.

• Willingness to travel approximately 20% both domestically and internationally.

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or another Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Preferred qualifications include: RoCEv2, InfiniBand, GPU, NIC, DPU, NCCL/RCCL, NVLink, UALink, Enhanced Ethernet, UEC, Slurm, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, gNMI, OTLP, hyperscale data center operations, and CCIE/JNCIE or equivalent.
