Principal Technical Product Manager, Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish and manage the roadmap for the Data Platform, focusing on ingestion, auto-detection, schema reconciliation, and lineage.

• Take ownership of the CRO and lab-partner ingestion-template product along with the auto-matching user experience, ensuring partner data is immediately usable upon arrival.

• Lead the initiative for dataset-level provenance, sensitivity tagging, and governance regarding field-of-use.

• Collaborate with the BioSim and ChemSim teams to design API schemas for experiment integration.

• Manage the federated data-management product that facilitates IP-safe data sharing among partners.

• Define and monitor key metrics that are crucial, including but not limited to time-to-usable per dataset, auto-match accuracy, and completeness of lineage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in product management, particularly in data platforms or data governance.

• Practical knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, data catalogs, and tracking provenance/lineage.

• Proven experience in designing data APIs for developers and ingestion tools.

• Background in establishing data governance controls, including access levels, sensitivity classification, and restrictions based on purpose/field-of-use.

• Capability to transform ambiguous data challenges that span multiple teams into scalable and measurable products.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
