Data Engineer Co-op, 8 Months

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the creation and upkeep of contemporary ELT data pipelines that gather, organize, process, and prepare data from diverse sources.

• Assist in the development and enhancement of analytical datasets and reporting layers that facilitate decision-making throughout the organization.

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to comprehend data requirements and convert business concepts into dependable data solutions.

• Aid in the expansion and improvement of data quality monitoring to guarantee reliable and trustworthy data for informed decision-making.

• Investigate, assess, and integrate new data sources, tools, and techniques that enhance our understanding of players, games, and business performance.

• Implement data engineering and business intelligence best practices to develop scalable, maintainable, and well-documented solutions.

• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements and contribute ideas that improve our data platform, analytical capabilities, and operational methods.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Proficient in writing Python and SQL.

• Basic understanding of data cleaning, transformation, and preparation methods.

• Familiar with data modeling principles and relational database basics.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen interest in learning and applying new technologies.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a team setting.

• Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices.

• Nice to Have: Familiarity with big data tools (Spark/PySpark).

• Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms or data warehouses such as Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

• Experience with cloud data services (Azure, AWS, GCP).
