Principal Systems Engineer

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical authority for the HPE cybersecurity and SASE portfolio, working alongside core DoD and Federal sales teams to drive comprehensive solution strategies.

• Design, validate, and advocate for large-scale SASE and SSE solutions—including ZTNA, SWG, CASB, and FWaaS—ensuring complete compliance with NIST SP 800-207, EO 14028, and OMB M-22-09 directives.

• Support customers in navigating the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and securing Authority to Operate (ATO).

• Facilitate multi-domain discovery sessions and architectural workshops to address complex federal networking and security issues, connecting agency requirements with technical implementation.

• Create and deliver sophisticated product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts, translating stringent compliance and technical requirements into defensible, outcome-oriented solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, or technical leadership within the realms of cybersecurity or network security.

• Extensive knowledge of federal security frameworks, including NIST SP 800-207, OMB M-22-09, the Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIG compliance, and FedRAMP/DoD IL5/IL6 standards.

• In-depth understanding of essential networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and security technologies (Firewalls, IPS/IDS, IPsec, SSL/TLS, and micro-segmentation).

• Proficient in identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) frameworks, including SSO, SAML, OAuth, and policy-based access controls.

• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrating secure access platforms into intricate enterprise environments.
