Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Responsible for sourcing and procuring commodity goods and services from a diverse range of suppliers.

• Initiates Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Proposals (RFPs), receiving and analyzing pricing proposals from potential suppliers.

• Collaborates with the quality organization to assess and monitor the quality and reliability of suppliers.

• Partners with internal customers to ensure that specifications align with the necessary services or products.

• Identifies opportunities to lower costs, enhance efficiency, and manage risks through strategic negotiations.

• Issues purchase orders as required.

• Oversees the performance of purchase orders, ensuring adherence to all public law requirements and company policies and procedures, including import/export regulations.

• Applies sound business practices and evaluates supplier performance as part of follow-up processes.

• Ensures that the necessary documentation is provided to the logistics, transportation, and warehouse teams for accurate receipt recording.

• Reviews and approves supplier payments as necessary.

• Leverages process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to promote quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, and/or supplier management, OR a Master's degree with no prior experience.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret level clearance within a reasonable timeframe.

• Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience, a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, and/or supplier management.
