Principal Supply Chain Process Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Design comprehensive supply chain processes encompassing Planning, Sourcing, and Delivery, while clearly outlining cross-functional handoffs, decision points, and constraints to promote simplification and scalability.

• Establish and uphold global standards including process blueprints, standard operating procedures (SOPs), business rules, RACI/decision rights, escalation paths, and a practical variation policy, detailing what should remain global, what can be adapted, and what may vary locally, all supported by clear governance.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to set objectives and priorities based on data-driven ROI assessments and business goals.

• Effectively lead the identification of problems, facilitate knowledge sharing, and drive solutions among diverse stakeholder groups.

• Oversee the implementation of solutions and identify necessary resources to meet objectives.

• Create practical controls at critical junctures, such as promise/commit, allocation, master data interactions, quality holds, and supplier escalations, detailing evidence expectations that are feasible in real-world operations.

• Spearhead systemic defect elimination by addressing root causes across processes, data, systems, and behaviors, minimizing reliance on workarounds through a managed registry that includes ownership, risks, expiry, and exit strategies.

• Utilize analytics and AI technologies to enhance process mapping, root-cause analysis, and scenario design, thereby amplifying the effectiveness and speed of improvements.

• Collaborate with Data Governance to establish process data requirements, KPI definitions, and data quality standards that support a unified truth for decision-making.

• Work with IT to ensure alignment of process intentions with system capabilities, clearly defining business rules and requirements while reducing unnecessary customizations, particularly on enterprise platforms (Oracle preferred).

• Evaluate outcomes and ensure accountability by establishing success criteria and KPIs for adoption, compliance, and performance impact, while monitoring leading indicators and coordinating corrective actions when targets are not achieved.

• Supervise a team of 3-5 process engineers and analysts, with potential for future expansion.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in supply chain process design, operational excellence, or operating model positions within a global enterprise, showcasing a comprehensive end-to-end perspective beyond a single function.

• Demonstrated capability to develop operating mechanisms (standards, decision rights, governance, controls, measures) that can scale across various regions and cross-functional teams.

• Strong systems thinking and trade-off management abilities: skilled in optimizing locally within enterprise standards and variation regulations while effectively communicating downstream impacts and constraints.

• Experience with enterprise platforms (Oracle preferred) and collaborating with IT on process-to-system translation, including defining business rules, requirements, and acceptance criteria.

• High level of data fluency: proficient in understanding master data, transaction flows, disciplined KPI definitions, and implementing practical data quality controls in an operational setting.

• Exceptional executive-level influence and facilitation skills; adept at aligning senior stakeholders without direct authority and coaching teams towards consistent execution.

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with a proven history of identifying and addressing risks, issues, and dependencies, successfully delivering initiatives on time and within budget.

• Background in leveraging AI, automation, and desktop tools to enhance individual productivity and explore solution alternatives.
