This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the technical roadmap and create system designs that facilitate scalable, secure, and operationally efficient card issuing and payment processing products for our clients.
• Dedicate substantial time to the codebase by writing, reviewing, and optimizing code throughout the issuing and processing stack.
• Identify and spearhead impactful technical initiatives that enhance the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of our core processing engines.
• Work alongside Product Managers to assess requirements and offer technical recommendations across onboarding, issuing, digital wallets, authorization & clearing, transaction controls, and ledgers.
• Mentor and support technical leads, influence stakeholders, and set success metrics to promote technical excellence across the organization.
• Implement and advocate for modern best practices in your software designs and implementations to bolster the platform's resiliency and scalability.
• 12+ years of practical software engineering experience.
• Proven enthusiasm for software engineering excellence, encompassing design principles, fault tolerance practices, scalability, cost, security & privacy considerations, and test-driven development.
• Experience collaborating with product teams to conceptualize and launch innovative solutions.
• Experience in developing and scaling microservices utilizing contemporary cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
• Experience working with high volume / low latency data infrastructures.
• Strong grasp of security engineering best practices and proven experience in designing solutions that comply with those standards.
• Passion for tackling non-functional challenges, specifically: Scale, Cost, Reliability, Performance, and High Availability.
• Experience constructing systems that operate in multiple regions.
• Team-oriented mindset – effectively lead projects, contribute as an influential team member, and collaborate across various organizations.
• Familiarity with our technology stack, specifically Java, Springboot, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Kafka, JPOS, and AWS services.
