Principal Software Engineer

Posted Jul 16

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Develop and enhance the MCP server and agent tool interfaces utilized by AI clients to access Endgame's context graph β€” crafting tool schemas, overseeing context windows, and ensuring swift and accurate data retrieval for every tool call.

β€’ Deliver frontend features, tRPC routes, and React components that users engage with on a daily basis β€” encompassing everything from admin dashboards to the primary product UI.

β€’ Design and fortify the public API layer: managing authentication, implementing Redis-backed rate limiting, enforcing quotas, and ensuring observability to detect issues promptly.

β€’ Integrate new data sources into the product by connecting with the context graph and making that data accessible through both user-facing interfaces and agent-facing tool surfaces.

β€’ Convert vague product objectives into specific engineering tasks, then execute them. Collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams is key, and you will frequently be the one transforming customer challenges into innovative solutions.

β€’ Take ownership of the end-to-end quality of the surfaces you release: encompassing performance, reliability, security, and observability. While AI sets a baseline, your standards elevate the overall experience.

⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Profound knowledge of the TypeScript and JavaScript ecosystems. You have built and maintained significant systems within these languages, rather than simply having casual experience.

β€’ Basic familiarity with Python.

β€’ Proven experience in designing and developing LLM and agent tool interfaces, which includes the tools themselves and the surrounding context management.

β€’ Strong background in API development with a clear emphasis on observability and authentication.

β€’ Excellent product instincts. You can interpret ambiguous product requirements and convert them into actionable engineering tasks.

β€’ Extensive experience with agentic coding tools and contemporary testing methodologies. You utilize AI coding tools daily, hold informed opinions about them, and understand when to rely on the agent versus reviewing the changes yourself.

β€’ A collaborative mindset. You communicate openly, share your work early, and strive for reversible decision-making when possible.

β€’ Bonus: previous experience with revenue-data systems (e.g., Salesforce, CRMs, sales tools) or developer-platform infrastructure (e.g., SDKs, APIs, agent tools).

🏝️ Benefits

β€’ Competitive compensation and equity

β€’ 401k, health, dental, and vision insurance

β€’ Flexible time off

β€’ Paid parental leave

β€’ Education stipend
