Principal Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Become proficient in the Zscaler SecOps platform and collaborate across functions with Sales, Product, and Services to convert customer needs into actionable integration strategies.

• Facilitate the onboarding and mapping of various cybersecurity and IT data sources in partnership with subject matter experts (SMEs) to directly align with customer use cases.

• Take ownership of data quality and pipeline integrity by auditing environments, proactively addressing issues, identifying security vulnerabilities, and establishing clear remediation steps for clients.

• Utilize Python, APIs, and AI coding tools (like Claude Code or Gemini CLI) to effectively configure, customize, and automate data transformations and platform workflows.

• Present technical insights to stakeholders and provide field-based feedback to the Engineering team to foster ongoing product enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong engineering foundation paired with a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly in vulnerability, exposure, and threat management.

• Practical experience in managing cybersecurity data pipelines (such as SIEM or Vulnerability Management platforms), encompassing ingestion, mapping, deduplication, normalization, and unification.

• Demonstrated success in integrating security tools and data sources, including EDR, VM scanners, CNAPP/CSPM, ticketing/CMDB, identity, and cloud logs.

• Expertise in Python and SQL for data analysis, modeling, parsing, transformations, API interactions, automation, and complete troubleshooting.

• Basic understanding of AI/ML technologies with experience in utilizing, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to enhance functional results.
