This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Engage in efforts to automate and enhance reliability while advancing the ARINCDirect infrastructure, ensuring it remains resilient and reproducible.
• Take charge of service availability, performance metrics, monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.
• Develop, enhance, and oversee environments to ensure that decisions regarding resource allocation, problem identification, and capacity planning are based on precise, data-driven insights.
• Manage a physical infrastructure utilizing Linux.
• Assist in driving the transition towards Kubernetes and declarative infrastructure.
• Influence technology decisions and directions that contribute to the growth and support of the ARINCDirect platform.
• Work collaboratively with fellow SREs within your team and extend your cooperation across other teams and disciplines to create reliable and scalable solutions and services.
• Recognize, implement, and advocate for process improvements to boost productivity, collaboration, and delivery efficiency while ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.
• A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; alternatively, an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or if no degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
• Must possess authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future; RTX will not provide sponsorship for this position.
• Experience as an SRE, Platform Engineer, or in a similar role within a Linux or UNIX environment, dealing with large, intricate infrastructures and/or projects utilizing Docker and Kubernetes solutions.
• Proficiency in automating configuration and infrastructure using tools such as Saltstack, Ansible, Terraform, or other declarative languages.
• Familiarity with hardware, including servers, network switches, and cabling.
